SoCon, FCS say goodbye to App State

(Asheville Citizen-Times) After 42 seasons, 203 wins, 12 championships and a winning percentage of .700, Appalachian State says goodbye to the Southern Conference and the FCS Saturday with a home game vs. mountain rival Western Carolina.It’s also so long to the battle for the Old Mountain Jug, the prize for winning this game between two programs that first played each other in 1932 and have met every year since 1946, when the Catamounts play at Kidd Brewer Stadium in a 3:30 p.m. kickoff vs. ASU.
