Asheville Holiday Parade rolls through downtown Saturday
(Asheville Citizen-Times) The big balloons are back this weekend as the Asheville Holiday Parade continues its festive 67-year-old tradition through downtown.The parade, again produced by the Asheville Downtown Association, begins at 11 a.m. Nov. 23 and follows the same route as in recent years. The lineup starts on Charlotte Street and turns onto Biltmore Avenue to Pack Place, then left onto Patton Avenue and down to French Broad Avenue. The parade is immediately followed by Jinglefest at Pack Square Park with more family-friendly fun. Streets will close as early as 7 a.m. Nov. 23 to allow the parade to pass, and all should be back open by 3:30 or 4 p.m. she said. Streets impacted will include Charlotte Street and those that cross the parade route on Biltmore and Patton Avenues.
